Mentoring

Mentoring for parents is available upon request. Many parents find this valuable for:

  • Building stronger working relationships with school

  • Working closely with school to develop an individual education/learning plan

  • Attendance at CAF meetings

  • Supporting their child at home with homework and organisation of tasks

  • Understanding specific learning difficulties and their impact on everyday life

  • Supporting their child with spelling, reading, handwriting and assistive technology

  • Transition to the next key stage of education

Mentoring and support for school staff has proved valuable for:

  • Strategies to support the learner in the classroom

  • Developing a dyslexia friendly classroom

  • Understanding working memory

  • Selection and delivery of wave 3 interventions

  • Understanding a school screener and taking the next steps

  • Integrating resources within school to complement existing support

  • Developing an IEP/EHCP
